Hiking and backpacking have become one of the favorite outdoor activities for the spring, summer and fall. In Utah there are so many areas that you can go for a short hike, backpack up into the high Uinta mountains or go to some of the lakes and reservoirs that are available. One obstacle that most people need to overcome is being able to fit everything into the backpacks that are being used. So after the initial investment, the cost of going out for the day, weekend or any longer period of time will be very inexpensive. With most top companies having some very good warranties so you can be sure that this equipment (if properly maintained) will last for many years.
